Commander Gaius is an optional boss in Shadow of the Erdtree encountered outside the backdoor of the Shadow Keep. Commander Gaius was a noted warrior and military strategist who rode a giant boar as his steed. Gaius studied gravitational magic from an Alabaster Lord. He was a fellow student of Radahn, a future demigod. He also befriended Messmer the Impaler, as both had in common that they were cursed from birth.
