Alan Jones

Alan Stanley Jones MBE (born 2 November 1946 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia), is a former racing driver who won the World Championship in 1980. He drove for Hesketh, Hill, Surtees, Shadow, Williams, Arrows and Lola during his career. The son of racing driver Stan Jones, Alan got an early start in motorsport but due to a lack of finance, saw his progress up the ranks to be quite slow.
