Ashitaka

Prince Ashitaka (アシタカ in Japanese) is the main protagonist of Princess Mononoke and (former) prince of Emishi Village. He is often accompanied by his loyal giant serow/red elk Yakul. At the beginning of the movie, Ashitaka is depicted as a slender handsome young man of average height who has long hair that is tied into a bun, but he cuts it off after he is told to leave the village.
