Bergil

Bergil was the older son of Beregond of Gondor. A boy of nine at the time of the War of the Ring, he accompanied Peregrin Took when he first arrived in the city of Minas Tirith. Bergil had an uncle named Iorlas, who was the same age as Pippin. It is not certain whether Iorlas was the brother of Beregond or of Bergil's mother, although Iorlas does not follow the alliterative pattern evident in males known to be related to Beregond (Bergil, Borlas).
