Penlod

Penlod was an Elf-lord of Gondolin in the First Age. Penlod was the marshall of two Gondolin houses, the Tower of Snow and the Pillar, and was the tallest of the Gondolindrim. He is not mentioned in the Silmarillion chapter concerning Gondolin's fall; rather, he appears only in The Book of Lost Tales Part Two. During the Fall of Gondolin, the Elves of the city suffered a hard attack from the enemy after the death of Rog and the House of the Hammer of Wrath. Having to retreat further back into the city, Penlod perished...
