Kung Lao

Kung Lao (Chinese: 空佬) is a character in the Mortal Kombat series. A Shaolin Monks and close friend to series protagonist Liu Kang, he is a student of Master Bo' Rai Cho and Champion of the Thunder God Raiden. He has remained one of the franchise's most popular characters and has been a central supporting character through out his appearances in the franchise.
