Miguel Rivera is a main character in Coco. He is a 12-year-old boy (who turns 13 at the end) who finds himself in the realm of the dead during the festive holiday Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos). Miguel Rivera is a member of a family of Shoemakers residing in Mexico. Despite his family's strict ban on music, he wants to perform as a musician, following after his idol, Ernesto De La Cruz.
