Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Jr., also known as Apu Du Beaumarchais, Slime Q. Slimedog and Steve Barnes, is the operator of the Kwik-E-Mart and good friend with Homer Simpson. He makes his first appearance in "The Telltale Head." He was originally voiced by Hank Azaria, but he is currently unvoiced. During the 1960s, while still living in India, Apu spent some time as a student of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, in which capacity he became a friend of Paul and Linda McCartney.
