Abraham Jay "Abe" Simpson II, commonly known as Grampa Simpson or simply Grampa, is the patriarch of the Simpson family, the father of Homer, Herbert, and Abbie Simpson, father-in-law of Marge Simpson, and the paternal grandfather of Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson. Abe was a World War II veteran who was later sent to the Springfield Retirement Castle by Homer. He is known for his long, rambling, and often inaccurate stories.
