Trading, auctions and coins: a guide
How to trade cards with friends, sell and bid on the FanBoosters auction market, and earn coins with achievements, without getting sniped.
Boosters give you cards; other collectors give you the cards you are missing. FanBoosters has two ways to move cards between players: trades between friends, and the auction market open to everyone. Both run on coins.
Coins
Every new collector starts with 500 coins. After that, coins come from:
- Selling cards on the market.
- Achievements: opening your first booster, owning your first Legendary, completing a universe, making friends, closing trades. Each one pays once, from 25 to 500 coins.
- Trades that include coins.
- Duels, once they launch (read more).
Coins cannot be bought. They are earned by playing, and every coin movement is recorded in your wallet history.
Friends and trades
Every collector has a friend code. Share yours, enter theirs, and once they accept you can see each other's binders, find who owns the card you are hunting, and propose trades. A trade can mix cards and coins on both sides. Nothing moves until your friend accepts, and at that moment the server checks that both of you still own everything on the table, then swaps it all at once. If anything changed in the meantime, the trade simply does not go through.
Your wishlist helps here: every card shows which of your friends own it and which of them wish for it, so you know who to ask, and who to offer your duplicates to.
The auction market
Anyone can put a card up for auction, for 1, 6, 24 or 72 hours, with a starting bid. Other collectors bid; the highest bid when the time runs out wins the card. A seller can also set a buyout price: pay it and the card is yours at once.
- Escrow. When you bid, your coins are held. If someone outbids you, they come straight back. Listing a card takes that copy out of your binder the same way, so it cannot be traded away while it is up for auction.
- Minimum raise. A new bid must beat the current one by at least 5%.
- No sniping. A bid placed in the last two minutes pushes the end back by two minutes. The auction ends when nobody wants to bid any more, not when a script clicks at the last second.
- Fee. When a card sells, 5% of the price is taken out of the economy. The seller receives the other 95%.
Show it off
Your profile has a vitrine of nine slots for the cards you are proudest of. And every card has its own page with a share button: send it to a friend and the link unfurls into the card.
